At my university, film students get to do video work on the Canon XL2, which is about a $4,000 professional-grade DV camera. They're pretty easy to work with and still have the manual settings - as those of you who work in DV already know, film/video students and videographers hate cameras that are exclusively automatic settings.
So, today I'm trying to think about where I'll shoot. I'm working on getting the basic montage shots for my upcoming video project Sam's Homecoming, and basically the shot needs to be of the guy leaving the city and heading for his hometown for a few days.
